Where dignity and compassion meet head on
BuzzBecause's mission is to give people faced with hair loss, due to a medical condition, the opportunity to have their hair “buzzed” for free in the privacy of their own home or hospital room by certified, compassionate hair stylists.
Many different medical conditions can affect hair loss and the BuzzBecause network can be there to support people during this transition.
Terri Jordan, the founder of BuzzBecause, is a second generation Master Barber and like her father, understands the emotional connection each person has with their hair. She's seen the effects that some medical conditions have on people’s hair and their sense of well-being.
Terri’s family has been touched by cancer ‐affecting three family members. She vividly remembers sitting with her sister and mother as her father shaved her mother’s head during treatment. Terri found comfort that her mother was able to be in the privacy of her own home, surrounded by her family.
The desire for Terri and the Board of Directors of BuzzBecause is to bring together clients and hair stylists so that the process of hair loss and “buzzing” one’s hair can be private and dignified.
